I would argue that death isn't -infinity. Death being negative infinity implies there is nothing worse however I would argue some forms of pain are worse then death, for instance I'd rather die then lose my limbs putting death at -1 billion and loss of limbs at -2 billion

The once in a millennia plague argument seems relatively silly when you consider how far science has advanced since the black death for example. Seems unlikely that there will ever be a natural plague that causes similar damage again. No doubt bio-weapons could cause large scale damage, but if it doesn't kill fast and in the millions, there will be a cure or prevention that will save the rest.

@From 2050 Here is a sad story. A young man in my town, the owner of a local bikeshop, just died. He had been tested positive and following the official recommendation had gone into self isolation. His family didn't come to see him, they just talked to him on the phone and put food outside. No one were with him, no one saw how sick he had become, until they found his copse. If people hadn't been so hysterical. If the family had followed their common intuition, rather than the "experts" recommendations, they would have seen how sick he were and put him in a hospital. People die from untreated influenza all the time. That is why it is so important to never be alone when you are sick. I had a really nasty flu a few years ago that required a hospital stay. If not for my mother, that insisted on calling the doctor when she saw me, I would have died too. Instead I got better after a single night in the hospital. That is how little it takes. Hysteria kills.

Dr Mr Grey, Thank you. I am really enjoying your videos. I think you do have a common theme through your videos... its clarity of communication. You tackle a wide variety of themes, but all are communicated in an equally effective manner. And this is gloriously refreshing. Especially today. As you said, communication is hard... it is probably the hardest thing we do.. and we dont know it! Thats why its so important. Your videos inspire me to communicate better. And they make me smile sometimes, which is also important. Thank you mr Grey Hope Mrs Grey is well and happy

I have probobaly 4x more than in the pandemic (as now, its been a year since this has started) than any other year. The pandemic just gives me a lot more time! its almost over (probobaly) now though. One discovery I made, is that I had realized what a 2D truly is. It is flat sheet of atoms. JUST 1 atom on the Z axis. as there is only 1 on the Z axis, there in NO Z axis (wich is obvius, because EVERYONE KNOWS what 2D is, but still) so paper, is not TRUE 2D.

in christianity death means going to heaven, life means continue living (duuhh). Both is a blessing either way. what im saying is that (even if you're not christian) the best way to live is to enjoy and not worry about death. If you fear doing things because you're afraid to die well you'll never go anywhere, you kinda become the thing you fear most. You become dead. Use this pandemic as an opportunity, an opportunity to stop reading this comment. Go out ther- no dont go out there. Get out of your chair or bed and stop being dead.

(6 months later) Grey asks "When will you next get on a plane?" As soon as I am able to do so and be relatively assured of my ability to return. I am currently living in mainland China, and if I leave right now, I won't be able to return any time soon. So as soon as foreigners here are able to come and go "like normal" (or more accurately, close to like it was in the before-times), -and my work schedule allows for it - I plan to return home to America and visit my friends and family. It's purely the bureaucratic nightmare of international travel in the time of COVID that has kept me from crossing a border for more than 13 months now.
