I moved from London to the south coast about five years ago. The only thing I really miss are the snow days. I used to live on Highgate Hill, so when it snowed in London, we had the best of it. And Hampstead Heath to enjoy it in. Never mind. It’s almost worth the lack of commute, the lack of overcrowding, the community I get down here to miss the snow. Almost. FYI, I grew up in a tropical city, so although I never experienced snow as a child, I definitely have the childlike love of snow only someone who experiences it rarely, in generally moderate amounts and with relatively mild temperatures and didn’t grow up with it can.

I went to elementary school in Canada for six years in the 1960s and we never had a snow day, even though it snowed six months of the year. At that time, at least, Canadians did not consider snow to be an obstacle to endeavors like school. I don;t know what the current Canadian policy on snow days is.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh this made me so happy!! 🤣🤣 I LOVE snow! It snowed for about 15 seconds a few days ago and when I was taking the bins out and I was like "right! I'm getting a blanket and sitting outside in this!" (I live in a block of flats with a shared garden. No one ever uses it!) Went back in. Washed my hands. Looked outside. Snow had stopped 😭 Also how long had the shard been known as Barad-dûr?! Genius!

It was lovely to find this and see views of london again :D although I feel I should mention as i work for Tate, that the precise explanation for the viewing platform being closed was likely a lack of staff in that day to supervise (the weather causeing travel delays) over the snow directly effecting the floor itself. :S Tate may be an overly cautious bunch, but we always aim for disapointed and safe over any alternatives.

So, I'm just now listening to the latest episode of Cortex (102 - Activation Energy) and am currently at the point where they're discussing comments (on this video specifically). I decided to take time out of my work day while I'm on my computer to leave a comment regarding ISsofts interaction. My family (husband, 6 yr old, and myself) interacts almost exclusively with ISsofts via either our PS4 or Roku on our living room television. Comments and even likes are a bit of a PITA with those formats. With Roku I believe comments are pretty much impossible. We don't really watch regular 'tv'. We have creators that we subscribe and watch their content and then do Netflix, Hulu, etc. I feel bad sometimes not interacting with people that I really enjoy their content (like CGP Grey) but I don't want to spend a lot of my life interacting with the internet (I know, I'm weird).

So great how the whole world seems to change from just a thin layer of snow. Pro tip: If you don't have the winter coat, you can just wear 1 or 2 sweaters under a summer coat. And a sweatpants inside your jeans (keep your hands in your pockets, guess) :)
